- Scoop as much of the ketchup up with a spoon
- Blot the area starting from the outside working in. Do not scrub or rub but press firmly
- Apply 1 cup of warm water mixed with ¼ teaspoon of clear dish detergent
- Let soak for 5 minutes
- Blot with a clean white towel until dry
- Rinse with warm water
- Blot with clean white towel until all detergent is removed
- Place a couple paper towels over area to soak up remaining water.
- Vacuum next day
