Steam Cleaning Tile and Grout Flooring
Most flooring in commercial restrooms is ceramic, porcelain and quarry tile with a cement based grout. Grout is porous which allows soil to be absorbed easily and susceptible to permanent staining. This is what allows odors to persist even after a thorough mopping. With proper maintenance, your tile surfaces will retain their “like new” appearance for many years to come.
The long-term buildup of soil particles, detergent residue, and hard water mineral deposits caused your tile, stone and grout surfaces to dull, discolor, and appear unsanitary. This resulted from the absorbent nature of porous tile and grout and the inability of conventional cleaning procedures to maintain tile surfaces to a clean and sanitary appearance.
Eliminate Restroom Odors
Did you know, #1 complaint in offices is the condition of the restrooms? A simple solution is have restroom floors steam cleaned to flush out stains and odors
We specialize in steam cleaning restroom floors and walls. This process gets into and cleans the pores of grout, flushing soil away in one simple step. This thorough process uses a combination of heat and high pressure to blast away dirt and grime. Washing away unpleasant odors. Sealing the grout is also recommended to keep the grout protected long term.
Should We Use Bleach To Clean Our Restroom Floors?
Generally no and especially if the grout has been sealed. What happens is bleach breaks down sealers and grout can re-soil quicker.
After A Floor Cleaning, Can We Seal The Grout?
Yes, penetrating sealer is absorbed by the pores of the Grout. It fills up the “nooks and crannies” so that wet stains cannot get below the surface. With hard surfaces like ceramic tile & grout, we only seal the grout to prevent permanent staining.
4 Steps For A Professional Tile Grout Cleaning Service
- Cleaning solution is applied to the tile & grout lines then allowed to dwell for 10 to 20 minutes.. The solution is worked into the pores with machine scrubbing to loosen embedded dirt, grease, oils and other contaminants
- Using our 200 degrees of water and up to 800psi of water pressure we thoroughly wash, rinse and extract the dirt, oils and pollutant laden water out of the pores of the floor into our truck’s recovery tank. This clean and efficient tool is self contained, so there is no over-spray of water or cleaning solution.
- Next we dry the floor using high speed air movers which takes between 10-30 minutes. We are then able to inspect the floor to see the true condition of the grout and can tell at this point if there is any permanent staining or discoloration.
- After consulting with the client on their long term goals for the floor.
Sealing: If you are happy with the results of the cleaning, we can go ahead and apply a sealer to the grout and protect it from permanent staining.
